I’ve served as a US Naval officer and a research scientist at various places such as Intel, Microsoft, the Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington and a startup called Darklight AI that came out of the National Labs.

I also teach at a number of places including the University of Washington and the Naval Postgraduate School and am on a few boards like the National Academies.

I’ve had the opportunity to travel widely and wander through the artifacts of history. Every vestige of history tells a tale, but the complete story fades over time. What else happened? What pieces are missing? What would it have been like to be there?
